𘎾 [¹khen₄] 'to give, to donate, to grant' is constructed from the left side of 𘏵 [²?a₃] 'to send away, to dispatch' and the right side of 𘓯 [¹khon₄] 'to give, to donate, to grant' {𘏵𘊱𘓯𗡼} babelstone.co.uk/Tangut/WenhaiL…

We have two synonyms 𘎾 [¹khen₄] and 𘓯 [¹khon₄] with vowel alternation, which are obviously reflexes of the same root. But what is the difference in meaning and/or usage between them? (not a rhetorical question)

Both 𘎾 [¹khen₄] and 𘓯 [¹khon₄] occur in literary texts, but the latter is far more common than the former:

Forest of Categories: 𘎾 (3), 𘓯 (25)

New Laws: 𘎾 (2), 𘓯 (69)

Proverbs: 𘎾 (0), 𘓯 (3)

Odes: 𘎾 (0), 𘓯 (4)
